Exotic Wings & Exotic Wings Extreme

Bringing you the best opportunities in aviation photography…

Travel to the action, immerse yourself photography, shoot rarities, visit ‘bucket list’ destinations, experience the thrill of the chase, learn from specialists all over the world, enjoy a fantastic social scene… There really is nothing like it.

COAP has decades of professional experience in delivering aviation photography, whether it’s a professional and enthusiast engagement across military air arms and commercial operators, visiting airshows or conducting air-to-air photography sorties.

These operations are strictly for photographers and are dedicated to spending quality time in the best vantage points, often executed with local knowledge and experience in place, and sometimes working towards a specific end result for our hosts.

Such visits may include a Workshop tutorial or have a Masterclass built into them, whereby aircrew or specialist aviation photographers will present to the group in a relaxed, interactive format.

The EW Extreme operations include travel off the beaten track, and are more suited to the dedicated photographer that loves the thrill of the chase. They offer a chance to travel with pro aviation shooters, with in-country experience and local contacts, which otherwise may be too daunting or difficult to achieve. Not for the faint-hearted, you never know what you are going to get on the adventure, but if you do come away with results they will surely be of the highest and rarest quality.

Exotic Wings overview…

•  Small groups of dedicated photographers, spending quality time immersed in aviation photography.
•  Shadow the pros and develop your technique.
•  Workshop/Masterclass often built into the assignment.
•  Produce stunning end results.
•  Solid travel itinerary.

  • What doesn’t change are the principles of great access and the opportunity to test and enhance your photographic skills not to mention the social side of gathering with fellow enthusiasts.

    Ian, Exotic Wings traveller.

  • This week has been one of the best weeks of my life. It was nothing short of amazing. I'm so passionate about my photography and finally feel I have found a place to learn more with COAP. And to top it all one of the pilots wants one of my images!

    Mark, Exotic Wings traveller.

  • We never shot from the same place twice; between the different vantage points, the changing light and weather, and the reversal of flight ops as the wind switched, there was such a variety to the photographic opportunities.

    Steve, Exotic Wings traveller.

  • These have been immensely enjoyable, well run, good value bearing in mind the opportunities they deliver and all with a great social atmosphere, comradeship and not forgetting the essential ingredient of a good dose of banter!

    Tim, Exotic Wings traveller.

  • Long days and an epic week that none of us will ever forget with experiences that will live for us forever. Fantastic COAP trip.

  • Exotic Wings #65

This brand-new, exciting airshow offers a chance to shoot something totally different… Full of historic sights and Historic Flights, we will be travelling to the Aqaba Airshow in Jordan, for an air-to-air project with the participants. The resort is beautiful, nestled at the top of the Gulf of Aqaba and will feature aerobatic action from all over the world, with day and night shows over the bay in a stunning setting. What’s more, the stunning historic sites of Wadi Rum and Petra will be visited. Outstanding!

    What to expect:

    • * Visit the first ever Aqaba Airshow in Jordan.
    • * Experience the beauty and culture of this part of the world.
    • * Air-to-air with airshow participants.
    • * Day and evening airshow programmes.
    • * Rare Jordanian aviation action.
    • * Excursions to Wadi Rum and Petra.

The timetable of EW65 to the Aqaba Airshow in Jordan is coming together!

The trip will be spent witnessing the airshow in stunning surroundings, undertaking air-to-air operations as well as shooting the display rehearsals (for the day and night events) as well as some unforgettable local culture excursions in this amazing country.

The event is being organised by AeroPact and we are working with the ATAM personnel on this trip, led by world famous photographer 'Hesja'. You will travel to Aqaba before the show for some leisure time, with the hotel available from Monday 16th March. The flights will take place during the period of 19-21st March, with the show itself over 20-21st March. The cameraship is being worked on as - as are the participants in the missions - and the photography will take place over the beautiful desert, coastline and the airport itself.

The list of subjects being worked on includes the RSAF 'Saudi Hawks', RJAF F-16s, RJAF Historic Flight Hawker Hunter, Royal Jordanian Falcons, Pioneer Team, Aerosparx, Merek Choim, Johan Gustaffson, plus others such as military helos. It is highly important to stress that nothing is guaranteed at this stage and plans will be changing all the time, as well as once out in-country.

The fact is that this is a truly wonderful leisure package with a brand-new airshow in a great holiday destination, with some flying in the mix that has the possibility of growing in stature.

The air-to-air package will be split into two categories. Level 1 is solid and will be implemented, and Level 2 is not 100% sure at this time and will develop whilst in-country.

Level 1, guaranteed as far as possible.
    • Accommodation in double rooms. Accommodation is available from Monday 16th.
    • Half Board.
    • Hotel-Airport transfers.
    • Air-to-Air photo shoots, flying with AeroSPARX in formation (this is outstanding, with an excellent experience of true aerial photography).
    • Air-toAir photo shoots, flying with the Pioneer Team in formation
    • Spotter pack, with airshow entrance, a special zone for photographers, attendance at the press conference at King Hussein International Airport.
    • Leisure pack, with trip to Wadi Rum, Stargazing in the desert, 50% discount on Petra entrance fees, a sunset cruise, trial diving (they have sunken aircraft wrecks in the region), and more.

Level 2, something that's being constantly worked on and not guaranteed.
This will be all of the above, plus a dedicated photoship (working on a PZL M28 Skytruck or C-30 Hercules of the RJAF). The type of aircraft will also dictate the air-to-air sessions. In the mix are...
    • Saudi Hawks
    • RJAF F-16
    • Hawker Hunter
    • Royal Jordanian Falcons
    • Pioneer Team, AeroSPARX, Marek Choim, Johan Gustaffson

There are two costs associated with the above.
Level 1: This will be between €1500 and €2000 for everything listed in this category and will be required to be paid up front. Exact cost will be communicated once the number of passengers is finalised.
Level 2: This will be required to be paid in-country if the implementation of Level 2 is successful, and consist of an extra €2000 in cash direct to the airshow organisers.

The only thing required on top of this will be your flights from your location in the world, which we can also book for you through our Travel Counsellors department.

HOW TO BOOK: Please send an e-mail to contact@centreofaviationphotography.com to confirm your interest and whether you would like a quote for flights from your originating airport too. We will be in touch with you direct as the details are confirmed.
